Thought for the Day:
You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.
~ Woodrow Wilson ~
People often are in the habit of measuring greatness on large scales of celebrity and fame. True greatness more often goes unnoticed in the small, private corners of Life.
The single mother of five who struggles to raise her children well while going to school to complete her degree; the woman who volunteers her time and effort to help other women improve their lives and self-image; the man who spends hours in silence, searching within his soul for the treasure that he can offer the world through meaningful service; the father who apologizes to his son for failing him in any way, then making up for it with the utmost sincerity, gratitude, and love.
In these and literally countless other ways people are striving to reach a higher, nobler ideal than they, heretofore, had assigned to themselves.
To break the illusory shackle of self-imposed limitations, then journey into the dark void of unknowing in order to reach the distant shores of complete Self-awareness, Self-knowledge, and Self-Love, and thus contribute meaningfully in any ‘small’ way to an elevated collective consciousness and enriched world is the true path of greatness.
